Sous-arbrisseau de 15-40 cm, vert, à tiges ascendantes ou dressées, à rameaux raides, dressés, pubérulents, très feuillés
Écologie : (répartition d'après la flore) Rochers et coteaux arides du Midi, jusque dans les Hautes-Alpes, l'Ain, la Lozère, la Gironde.
Répartition hors de France : Europe méridionale, jusqu'au Caucase; Algérie.

A very stout biennial with erect, branched, leafy, winged, prickly and cottony stems 50-180 cm growing from a rosette of leaves
